ROME, Italy - World No.1 Simona Halep got a chance to meet legendary tenor Andrea Bocelli ahead of her first match at the Internazionali BNL d’Italia.

Bocelli was performing a benefit concert, “Together For Sarnano,” at the Foro Italico to raise funds for the reconstruction of the Sports Center of Giacomo Leopardi secondary school, hit during the disastrous 2016 earthquake.

Several players took the night off for their Rome preparations to attend the concert, including Alison Riske, Andrea Hlavackova-Sestini and Halep - who’s previously named Bocelli as one of her favorite singers.
